We are

educational support and training to underprivileged children and young
people in poor areas of the world, such as the examples below:

Nina is a young girl
who daily roams the streets collecting rubbish that can be re-sold. Nina
struggles to support her two younger brothers, ever since their father
deserted them and her mother died. Support-a-Child-in-Need will take Nina
off the streets, take care of her , and give her
training in practical skills that will help her to obtain employment, so
that her future is more prosperous and secure.
Jay is a little boy who works the dusty streets shining shoes. He struggles
to help support a younger sister, his mother who is disabled, and his
father who has no skills and works whenever he can. Jay said he would love
to be like the man whose shoes he is shining. To have the same chance of a
better life and to have the training in skills that will provide him with
similar opportunities of employment. Support-a-Child-in-Need will give him
the chance to abandon the streets, to continue to live with his family and
to gain those skills.

Support-a-Child-in-Need is a children's charity, run by a group of caring
people in Bradfield, Berkshire,
England.
Our objective is to provide humanitarian, financial, educational support
and training, to underprivileged children and young people in poor areas of
the world. We have started our work with projects in India,
establishing skills training classes for slum and street children. The
objective is to equip girls and boys with basic skills, so that they may
obtain employment and thus have a better life. Many children take to the streets
to help their families, or are orphans supporting brothers and sisters.
Gaining an employable skill, rather than just begging, can save themselves
and their dependants.
Our long term aim is to establish permanent training centres. Basic skills
and vocational training will be provided and a home given to those
youngsters who have nothing.
